Applicability of section 224 of Companies Act, 1956

Is Section 224 of the Companies Act, 1956 only applicable to Public Companies and Private Companies which are subsidiaries of Public Companies?

Isn't it applicable to Private Companies?

Please Help.

Section 224 of Companies Act 1956 is applicable to every "Companies".

Yes, Section 224 of Companies Act, 1956 w.r.t to appointment & remuneration of Auditor is applicable to Private Limited Company too.
