Hi,

A client has filed 704 for FY 2010-11. However J1 J2 were not submitted at the time of filing.

Questions/Doubts :

1) Is J1 J2 Compulsory for FY 2010-11 (704 was applicable to the dealer/manufacturer)?

2) Can we now submit J1 & J2 for FY 2010-11 ?

3) Submission of J1 J2 now, should be voluntary or in response to Departments notice ?

As such J1 & J2 forms part of Form 704. So ideally, you should have filed J1 J2 thru Form 704 itself

In case, you have not filed it, you may receive a notice for filing the same.

I feel that you can also file it voluntarily quoting the reference / ackn no of original return (you need to upload 1 page Form J1 & J2 for this)
