One of my friends is a Android Developer here in Chennai. He contacted me to know whether he has to pay Service Tax or Sales Tax for the Android apps he is selling in Play store all over India. Please help me out in this regard. Thanks in advance.
Why not Sales tax?? Actually this is a Licensed product sold in Android market. Any ideas??
An android app comes under the category of software, which is a good and amenable to sales tax.Therfore the seller has to pay both service tax and sales tax until onset of GST
