Advance Tax not reflecting in Form26AS

1092 views 9 replies

Hi,

I paid advance tax in sep 1st week, but it is still not reflecting in Form26AS. I re-checked the payment history in incom tax eportal and the details like AY are fine - 2026-2027. Is it possible that Form26AS can take such a long time. Thanks in advance

Thanks

Mani

Quick Summary
If your advance tax payment isn't appearing in Form 26AS, don't worry. It can take several weeks for updates to reflect, even if your payment details are correct on the e-filing portal. While it used to appear in Form 26AS, advance tax is now more likely to be visible in the AIS portal. You can verify your payment on the NSDL OLTAS portal using your challan details. If confirmed, you can proceed with filing your Income Tax Return (ITR) as the credit will be granted based on the challan data.

It will reflect in AIS

E portal....payment history also

Not reflect in 26AS

Yes, Form 26AS can take several weeks (even months) to update. Since your advance tax challan is correct and visible in the Payment History with AY 2026-27, you do not need to worry. It will reflect in 26AS automatically.

Sir.

Nowadays advance tax is removed from 26AS

It will reflect in AIS....check AIS heading

Mahesh, Aashok,

Thank you very much for your quick response.

Thanks

Mani

It is visible in payment history

Everything will be set right at the end of relevant assessment year.

Yes, it is feasible. Form 26AS does not always update instantly. Even though your advance tax payment displays correctly in the ITR e-filing portal, it can take a few days or a few weeks to appear in the 26AS Form, depending on the bank’s reporting and system updates. If it still does not reflect after 15 to 20 days, you may raise a clear request via the filing portal or reach your bank to ensure that the tax challan was correctly uploaded to TIN.

It will not reflect in 26AS

Advance tax payments typically take 3 to 7 working days to reflect in Form 26AS and the AIS portal after the bank processes the challan. Before you panic, check two things: first, log into the e-filing portal and check under Taxes Paid, where the payment often shows up before Form 26AS updates.
Second, verify on the NSDL OLTAS portal using the CIN number from your challan. If you find the payment is recorded there, you are fine. File your ITR reflecting the actual tax paid. The credit will be granted based on the challan data even if 26AS has not updated yet.
