2nd part I would say no need to purchase a new book. as per my experience they dont make any major additions in the new book and the cost is increased.

IndAS are not applicable for May 2012 exams. Because the implementation date of IndAS is still not yet notified by Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Even if it notifies next month, it is not applicable. Reason being, to get included in syllabus, there should be 6months gap between the date of implementation and the date of exam.

As there no changes in existing standards now, no need to buy fresh book.
