Quick Summary
This discussion explores how to determine accounting and bookkeeping fees, whether on a monthly or yearly basis. Key considerations include the scope of work, time involved, and client-specific needs. It's generally advised to charge a fixed monthly fee for compliance work, with payments due shortly after the month ends, similar to salary processing. The prevailing market rates depend on these factors, and for contractual work, Section 194J may apply.

Always advisable to take fees on monthly basis ( within 5 days from end of the month: similar to how salary payments are processed ). Normally, it depends on quantum, days involved and client specific requirements.

Normally take up all compliance work at a fixed monthly cost. Regular payments is a key to sustainable business definitely.
If it's on the basis of retainer we can proceed as per months fees.
In case it's a contractual one Sec 194J is applicable.
