Hi to every Caclubindians
Before beginning, my observations are lengthy so please spare some time. Yesterday, there were some forums which carried allegations against two of the Top members, one Mr Vaibhav and the other is CA Prashanth Gupta. Both were started by a person named Mr Rahul Virani, a new member of CCI who just started his account day before yesterday. The forums reached more popularity and the admin has no other options to close the forums started by him to settle the issue. The allegations levelled against Mr Vaibhav was that:
1) Mr Vaibhav received two thanks from persons whoever visited his profile without their knowledge;
2) There were many fake thanks in his profle.
3) There were some “self thanks” to his profile (i.e. Thanks to himself for his own contribution) to be precise 5 in number.
Just few hours of starting this thread, he alleged CA Prashanth Gupta that he received many fake thanks to boost up his points. And everyone was waiting for the action of Admin. To my surprise, the Admin deleted the account of Mr Rahul Virani. And I was at the impression that Admin has indirectly given a “GAG Order” to its members who were raising their voice against Top members. This was my view until I viewed the thread started by Mr Rahul Virani on CA Prashanth Gupta. And I changed my view on admin thereafter.
Rahul Virani started analysing the thanks received by CA Prashanth Gupta, as well. The allegations levelled against Mr Prashanth Gupta were baseless to my knowledge because of the inappropriate assumptions in his analysis. Atleast in Vaibhav's case there was clear evidence that whoever visited his profile has thanked him twice without their knowledge and there was some "self thanks". I think for this reason Admin might have deleted his account.
I never believe in making comparisons, but I am forced to do so. Once you decide to open a scam, you have to target/concentrate only on that scam like Mr Subramanian Swamy. If you go in the path of Mr Arvind Kejriwal, by trying to expose multiple scams, then it would be a great flop because, people can't concentrate on too many things and the whistle blower himself could not support his arguement with sufficient evidence owing to his concentration on too many things. And sometimes later, people will think that the whistle blower is doing all this things only for popularity. As I mentioned in my previous reply to Rahul Virani’s thread (That reply was to Mr Vaibhav, but sadly I had to say this to Rahul as well) there is a difference between credibility and popularity. Popularity can be reached overnight, but credibility is gained over a period of time. Rahul followed kejriwal's way, the first one he exposed regarding Vaibhav has created some suspicions. But after that what he said against CA Prashant Gupta was baseless. After all, why a CA should do all these things during his busy work schedule, what he is going to get by boosting his thanks here, not even a penny. Also one cannot track the thanks as to whether it is received from Fake or Other Members. So I think this is the reason Admin has banned his account.
But the work of Admin hasn’t stopped there, what about the case of Mr Vaibhav, many senior members like Ankur sir agreed that there were “Thanks” from them to Vaibhav without their knowledge and for which Mr Vaibhav could not claim any credit. Also the shocking fact revealed by Ankur Sir in that thread says that Mr Vaibhav received 400 plus thanks from March 1st to 4th. The top 5 thanked member has not even received 10% of what Mr Vaibhav received. Also Vaibhav claims that most of the thanks he received were from his brother. Is CCI is a place where you gain points due to mutual love and affection. Ofcourse Admin cannott track whether Thanks is delivered by a person who is related to the member, but admin can take this into note when considering how Mr Vaibhav has earned points. And what about the “self thanks” it might be only 5 in number but even the mistake of a smallest magnitude is a mistake. Admin has given only part judgement (not partial judgment I believe) by deleting the account of Mr Rahul.
Some months back in CCI I objected a person named Mr K K Agrawal for promoting his book which is loaded with errors saying that this was “India’s No 1 book on Taxation”. I opposed the same and wrote the review of the book for the benefit of students. At that time, Mr K K Agrawal’s points were some 2000 plus and I was merely a 100 plus points holder in CCI, but Admin delivered the justice by deleting his account for his wrong promotion misguiding the students.
If admin doesn't give any explanation about why it left Vaibhav, then sometimes later it would be a case where people would not give any comments in disagreement with top members fearing that their account would be deleted, eventhough their views are genuine. Next time if people like Mr K K Agrawal comes and cheats the student's community, then I really wonder I will be able to raise my voice against them. So before closing this thread, I request Admin to take an appropriate action on Mr Vaibhav also and deliver its official judgement through a reply.
