I have Properties which meant for Rental "Let go". I have loan against all these properies so I have loss as my Interest is higher than rental I am getting. FOr year 2010-11 my income from other sources was less and as a result have significant Loss on House Property (LOHP). However I didn't filed return.

Now in year 2011-12 I have good income and to avoid tax I am wondering if I can bring LOHP from year 2010-11 into 2011-12 tax return to reduce my tax liabilites.

First you file your return of  2010-11 and set off your loss against other income and blance will be carry forward.  Than file your return of 2011-12 and set off  your current your loss and carry forward loss.

You can file a belated return for FY 10-11. You can show loss from HP therein. It will be allowed to be carried forward if it is assessed so.

Only business loss and  loss under capital gains cannot be carried forward if a return is not filed within the normal due date

Right you can file ITR For Financial Year 2010-11 (Relevant To A.Y.2011-12) And For F.Y.2011-12(A.Y.2012-13) .And set off the loss from HP . i also advise you to take consultancy from a Professional , since you have mentioned that you have more than one house property and you have taken loans as well ...you can claim one hp as self occupied and will be deemed as they are let out.....so take professional help....there may be some other points as well.....and its adivised to file return regularly ,
