Recent data highlights the significant impact of Indian government schemes in empowering women entrepreneurs. Under the Stand Up India Scheme, launched in 2016 to promote entrepreneurship among underserved groups, over 81% of account holders are women. Similarly, the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), established in 2015, has seen approximately 68% of its loan accounts sanctioned to women entrepreneurs. The Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), initiated in 2014 for universal banking access, also shows strong female participation, with 23.21 crore accounts belonging to women out of a total of 41.93 crore.

The Stand Up India Scheme was launched on 5 April 2016 to promote entrepreneurship at the grass root level, particularly for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and women entrepreneurs, by facilitating bank loans between Rs.10 lakh and Rs.1 crore.
About 68% of loan accounts sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) belong to women entrepreneurs.
PMMY was launched on April 8, 2015, to provide loans up to 10 lakh to non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises.
As of 24th February 2021, 23.21 crore accounts under PMJDY belonged to women account holders.
PMJDY was launched on 28th August 2014.
