Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances were destroyed as per provisions of NDPS Act 1985 and included Cocaine, Heroin, Ganja, Ketamine, Metaphetamine, Khat Leaves and Diazapem Tablets. These goods had been seized, in various anti-smuggling operations and follow up actions against perpetrators of such crimes, by Directorate of Revenue intelligence (DRI) as well as by various Customs formations under the jurisdiction of Principal Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai. Concerned investigating units had completed their investigations in all these cases and fulfilled the legal formalities. A high level Drug disposal Committee headed by Additional Commissioner (Preventive) was constituted for supervision and ensuring compliance of all relevant procedures prescribed under the act and Manual for such destruction.
