The Chairperson of the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), Delhi, has been empowered to decide the PNB appeals.
The notification covers two appeals: Punjab National Bank vs M/s Sundar Nagar Integrated Rural Development Association (Appeal No. 50 of 2021) and Punjab National Bank vs M/s Rishi Boys Hostel & Others (Appeal No. 51 of 2021).
The authorisation is issued under Section 8(3) of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993.
These special authorisations are issued by the Central Government to ensure pending appeals are heard and disposed of efficiently, especially in cases involving significant banking recoveries or requiring specific administrative arrangements.
