Xbrl

As per MCA mandate, required company has started filing thier balance sheet in XBRL format instead of existing PDF format.

So as a user of financial statement of company, if i download the balance sheet filed by the compnay from ROC website, then it comes in XBRL format which i'm not able to use.

Kindly advise me as to how can i use the downloaded balance sheet. Do i need to covert it in any format (say PDF) or what? If yes, then how can i covert it?

Please do the needful.

Please note that, MCA Website itself provides Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss Accounts in the PDF format. You can download them from: View Public Document = Annual Returns and Balance Sheet Attachment option.

Else, if you have .xml files of Balnce Sheet & Profit Loss A/cs, then you can view them by opening it in MCA VALIDATION TOOL. This is available on MCA Website: https://www.mca.gov.in/XBRL/MCA-validation.html

Make sure that, latest tool introduced by MCA is "version 1.1.1"

You can also generate pdf files from such .xml files using this Validation Tool.

Thank you Mr. Pavan. It was useful. It served my purpose.

When the balance sheet was filed in XBRL format the attachedment would be in XML, therefore you will be able to download only XML document.

Therefore, you are requried to download the XBRL Toolkit from the MCA site and get the XML document converted into the pdf mode. Then you will be able to read it.

Yes CS Ankur Srivastava. I got the solution. Thanks for your suggestion.
