Why single owner having multiple Pvt Ltd in the same state register GSTIN for each company ?

If a single person has multiple Pvt Ltd in the same state (having different company PAN numbers for each Pvt Ltd) can register a different GSTIN.

So my question is :- What is the benefit of registering different GSTIN for the above situation ?

or it completely depends on the owner of the company to either register one single GSTIN and pay tax using that for all company ?

1. No question of benefit, its mandatory to register based on PAN of each company.

2. No question of single ownership, these companies are different due to different PANs..

GSTIN IS PAN BASED SO DIFFERENT PVT. LTD. MUST HV DIFFERENT PAN.

Ok I understood this, But I read two different things :-

under the heading "Multiple GST registration in the same state" at here

https://tallysolutions.com/gst/got-two-or-more-branches-in-the-same-state-find-out-if-you-need-multiple-gst-registration-multiple-gstin/

They are telling that "In February 2019 new rule came and according to that businesses have the option to obtain separate GSTINs for each branch in the same state or union territory, even though the said businesses are not different business verticals. In short, you can have more than one GST registration for multiple branches in the same state

Now I am thinking about how it is possible because on the other website

under the heading "Know the reasons why a proprietor can’t take 2 GST Registration within same state on 2 different business name" at here

https://www.e-startupindia.com/learn/a-proprietor-cant-take-2-gst-registration-within-same-state/

They are telling that technically the GST portal will not allow you to register GSTIN when you will type the same PAN number which is already associated with a GSTIN because from 3 digit to 12 digit is the PAN number in the GSTIN so the GST Portal cannot update the two different business trade names at the same PAN Number and this restrict for a Sole Proprietorship. (considering this even if a single Pvt Ltd wants to generate multiple GSTIN for the same State can do as a single Pvt Ltd will have one PAN then why the fist website link says it is possible ? )
