Wht is the procedure for claiming of TDS Refund

CAn i know wht is the procedure for claiming of Refund of TDS of two years back. & i have also not filed return for that year.Is it necessary to file return if i m not havig taxable income.Wht is the format of letter for claiming refund of tds under income tax act.

Please let me know as soon as possible.I m waiting for replies.

Refund of TDS can only be claimed after filing of Income Tax Return with the help of appropriate ITR form.

Even if you don't have taxable income but TDS have been deducted from you against your PAN, then you have to file Income Tax Return for claiming the refund of Tax deducted.

Shilpa you file the last two year return and also write a letter to I.T.O. and Commissioner U/s 119 for late filing of return.

You should filed return of two years back and also write a letter to ITO and Commissioner U/s 119 for late filing of return

Yah you have to first file return of that year showing TI below maximum amount exempted from tax . And thereby claim TDS and attach copy of Form 16A. If you have already filed return of that year within the due date then revise it.
