A certain excise tax evasion case happened a couple of years back and the case has been filed only now.
Will the current companies law apply in this case or the previous version of the company law that was prevalent at the time of the offense?

It is violation of Excise Act and hence the Department will file case under Excise Act and not under Companies Act.
