Customs, Central Excise and Service tax comes under purview of CBEC.
so far as my understanding is, scope of audit under service tax is clearly defined before an audit and it does not include audit under excise law.

CBEC has powers to audit both excise and service tax records.
cbec has powers, i dont disagree with that. but when superintendent of s.tax orders an audit under s.tax then the scope of audit is limited to activities relating to services. correct me if i am still wrong.
