When to start studying for finals ?

Hey everyone ,

I passed class XII last year with 91% and cleared IPCC both groups this MAY with 60% in first attempt.

At the moment i am waiting to start my articleship (will start it in another 10 days or so).

I wanted to ask the fellow CCI members that when should i start studying for finals ?

Now ? After a year  ? or after the articleship ?

One thing is sure i wont be taking tutions with articleship .

One of my teacher said that wait fro one year and relax and then start.

So Please Guide me .

And if i should start , what are the subjects which are comparitively easy for starting and for self study and which do not get a lot of amendments because i will be giving finals in NOV 2015 or MAY 2016.

Thanks :)

first of all congratulations.....I think u can start with theory subjects as of now....like law and ISCA with the study modules.....and in the next year u can start with the practical subjects...and take DT and IDT at the last as these subjects are full of amendments....Al d best....

Financial Reporting, SFM, Costing (AMA) should be completed first. You may refer following books for exam preparation :

Group 1 – Click here for Strategy to Clear CA Final Group 1

Financial Reporting – Best option is join class for financial reporting (or arrange class notes of any good teacher near your location). (Reference book : P C Tulsian)

AS - Sanjeev Singhal (BEST) / D S Rawat

SFM - J B Gupta book with DVD Lactures (Taxmann Publication) (BEST) . .

Audit - Padhuka for important and practical topics (For other portion surbhi bansal) .

Law - Munish Bhandari Handbook (Plus Padhuka for detailed study, if you have sufficient time).

Group 2 Books – Click here for Strategy to Clear CA Final Group 2

AMA / Costing - PC Tulsian (BEST)  plus Study Material and Practice Manual (It is better prepare your own notes for theory portion).

ISCA - Manish Valechha ISCA TextBook (BEST) (Memory Based Edition).... Best book to fetch high marks in ISCA. Very well written with awesome presentation ….The most comprehensive yet easy to understand textbook. It explains all topics with examples, diagrams, memory codes (refer Study Material if you have sufficient time but not actually required).

Direct Taxes - T.N. Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible). (or  Vinod Singhania if you need detailed book, language used in Singhania is live-conversational and very impressive so u can use it for theory and concepts),  (Also check  T G Suresh’s DT book it is very concise book (BEST for revision)  it can be completed easily).

Indirect Taxes - Rafi for Concepts (BEST) (Padhuka or Banger for detailed Study and past exam questions)

Thank You Bhumika and Rahul.

I think i will be starting off with ISCA and AUDIT and will be doing these in the first year .(1 Hr per day il be studying)

Will be doing SFM and Law Next Year

And thereafter will be taking tutions for the subjects needed :)

Thanks Again :)
