Hi Girish,

Firstly, start with Costing, SFM, MAFA (practical subjects) because these do not changes frequently, you can start Law after May 2012 (law also does not have more changes), but start tax subjects (DT n IDT) by May 2012 onwards, in anyway you have to be aware about the amendemnts because the amendments applicable for May 2013 will be amendments/circulars/notification issued by CBDT upto April 30, 2013. So you have to take a note of this anyway.

And for self study, its good if you are very confident and very much hardworking, however taking coaching from good teachers would help you a lot in understanding the concepts. This is my personal view, because, I have tried self study in Costing, FM, Law, Audit and IT & SM in PCC level. Anyway, that's your wish, but be conscious and attentive while doing self study or coaching both.

Regrads,

its better to start with taxation as it would help you in your articleship as well, after that you can start with other practical subjects. keep your theory subjects for later as one theory to forget the theory subjects over a period of time. and the most important thing is your articleship, do your articleship properly as it does help you in your subjects too.

good luck with your preperations...!!!

J B Gupta is good .. You can refer it for concepts. Practice All past exam Q. (Form th book, compiler, PM)

You are having enough time prepare your own theory notes for SFM (at the time of revision).

For ISCA i cant say abt future changes.. It is always advisable that one should complete his/her syllabus as soon as possible. Dont think abt changes . Changes cn b incorporated at th time of revision...

refer Manish Vlaechha plus PM (The book perfectly covers all aspects of ISCA, added with examples, diagrams, memory codes....No need to refer study material)

waah.. awesome..

thanks :)

i hope ill work on it accordingly

:)

costing n sfm...

@ lalit thanks.. costing? but which book for costing now? o.O

Start up with practical paper, and get the concept clarity, for that you buy the best books available in the market, make sure that the book u buy covers the entire sylabus, give equal importance for the theory questions in the practical subject.

As far the Direct Taxes and Indirect Taxes are concern you keep in touch with them, as they are necessary to have a frequent revision as we generally forget the provisions so be in touch with them regularly, if you are working or doing articles you need to be in touch with them.

Next theory papers like auditing, CLSP, ISCA,  you should have to give equal importance, but you can start them 6 months before of your exams.

Munish Bhandari handbook for law it is good.

buy a book for  accounting standards and auditing standards.

gud luck... byeeeeeeeeeeee
