I own a private limited company. For renovation work, I have to give work contract to a provider. Please let me know if there is any taxation obligation i.e. which I have to directly deposit the amount to Government's account? Like VAT, STAX etc. Please advice.

if the contractor is of j&u state or a non resident then under reverse charge ur suppose to pay service tax to govt. in other case he I'll collect service tax from u if his Turnover is more than 10L and deposit with the govt

Thanks for your reply.

My private limited company is in Delhi and contractor is also from Delhi. The total estimated cost for the Interior Work is 6 Lacs.

a) If his turnover > 10 lacs then how much service tax I have to deposit on govt account?

b) If his turnover <= 10 lacs then how much service tax I have to deposit on govt account?

c) Should I need to deposit any VAT or VAT related declaration/challan on govt account directly or my company needs to be VAT compliance?

I am just wanting to know as a director of a private limited company what is my part of obligations towards government.

if contractors previous year Turnover is more than 10L he I'll charge u ST. if

Anything I have to do with VAT?

IF the total bill raised by him is for 6L then it is inclusive of ST u don't hv to worry about that
no u can't take input of vat charged by him if any

So my IT company does not required a VAT registration number for VAT kinda declaration to Government?

if ur into service sector n registered Service provider then u can take input of ST charged by ur interior.

I am in Software Services Exporter....

So does my company requires VAT registration no for Interior Work Contract given to an Indian Individual Contractor?

no u don't require any vat registration
it depends on what kind of software ur exporting

it's better if u consult a CA in person.
