Can you give the respective values in Schedule BFLA (along with column no.).

I am getting the same errors and struck. Have you resolved? How pl

Schedule CG errors in ITR-2 for AY 2026-27 are very common this year because of a structural change.

Key change: for capital gains from equity shares and equity mutual funds, you now have to split entries into two periods: transactions before July 23, 2024 (LTCG at 10% with 1 lakh exemption) and transactions on or after July 23, 2024 (LTCG at 12.5% with 1.25 lakh exemption). Entering a single aggregate figure causes a validation error.

For BFLA: brought forward losses do not auto-populate. Enter them manually from your previous year ITR acknowledgement. The set-off is capped at current year gains of the same type.

Practical fix:
1. Get a capital gains statement from your broker broken down by the July 23, 2024 cut-off
2. Enter LTCG and STCG in the split format in Schedule CG
3. Manually populate Schedule BFLA with prior year loss figures from your last ITR acknowledgement

This error is usually occurring because the numbers entered on Schedule CG (Table F - Quarterly Breakup) do not correspond to the numbers auto-filled in Schedule BFLA. Many users have reported that the referenced 3via/3vii in the error message is either not referenced in the utility or is not mapped correctly.

Try the following:

  •  Go to Schedule CG → Table F.
  • See the capital gains amount in quarters.
  • Make sure that the sum of all the quarters equals the gain after set-off as listed in Schedule BFLA.
  • Revalidate after saving.
  • If figures are accurate but there continues to be an error it may be a glitch in the utility/portal that has been reported by a number of taxpayers in similar capital gain validation scenarios.

Many users found that a work around was to carefully re-enter the break up of the quarters in Table F and validate again. In most instances, the error is resolved when the quarter-wise figures match the BFLA figures exactly.
