Vlookup/Hlookup functions make file size very heavy. Check file size. See if it is taking lot of time on saving the file during the work.
In case, size of the file is very heavy, and you dont need the Vlookup/hlookup function anymore, copy and paste special the values fetched by the function. This way your file will reduce, however, anytime if there is change in the master data from where you have fetched the values, you need to update your file by putting vlookup again.
