Usage of "NA" and "Nil" while filling up ITR2.

Hi Members,

ITR2 instructions specify the following:

--- QUOTE ---

(ii) If any schedule is not applicable score across as “---NA---“.

(iii) If any item is inapplicable, write “NA” against that item.

(iv) Write “Nil” to denote nil figures.

--- ENDQUOTE ---

I am getting confused on when to use "NA" & when to use "Nil" for individual items.

Example 1 : If I am not showing any losses, I can score across the schedule as "---NA---". However, while filling up individual items under Part B - TI, should I mention "NA" or "Nil" against the respective item for losses ?

Example 2 : If I am not claiming for any tax relief under Section 89/90/91, should I fill up "NA" or "Nil" ?

Can anyone help to clear the usage of these ? Does is matter if I mess up usage of "NA" or "Nil" ?

Regards,

Gaurav
