I want to know that if employee had taken medical treatment inn goverment or municipal hospital and bills are issued in the name of employee and later on reimbured by employee than in such case such a perquisite is taxfree for emploee or according to section 17(2)(iv) it would be fully taxable for employee

For this situation, the Act says if treatment is taken in hospital maintained by Central/StateGovt. or Local Authority, any amount incurred /reimbursed by Employer is exempt from tax. Not Chargeable to Tax.

rajesh sir is right but i think this is fully taxable when payment made in employee name and employer make sreimbursement.bill should be produced in employer name for claiming exemption

Hi tarun, i think the name of employee in bill is sufficient to claim exemption
