Urgent new password for efiling

Please tell me as to how I can get a new password for my client to e file her returns.

She had asked an agent last year to register her on efiling website and now he forgot the password and also the questions. the email id he had provided while registration also was his own. So no chance of getting any info from there.

I have sent a mail to validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in giving the required particulars about 2 weeks back but no reply. I tried calling the toll free number but she told me that the service of sending new password is discontinued from August 13 and will be resumed soon.

Does that mean that my client will not be able to file e return at all?

Please help!

According to me, you should send again the mail with relevant details to validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in. They will revert in 72 hours. the same thing happnd with my client also.

Or else why dont you contact the agent?

send mail to validate. you will get the password. i think it works. otherwise you cal help center they will help you to get the password. cal to 1800 4250 0025.

income tax dept. had discontinue the sending new Password on new mail so wait for starting this service again

BUT AS MADHAVI  REPORTED THAT SOMEONE ELSE HAVE REGISTERED THE EFILING  IN THE PAST AND THE PERSONS DOES NOT CO-OPERATE IN GIVING THE PASS WORD THEN THE ASSESSEE IS THE LOSER

THE EFILING HELPDESK ALSO DONO CO-OPEARTE FOR THE SAME.

THERE SHOULD BE SOME REMEDY FOR THIS.

INSTEAD OD SYSTEM USER FROENDLY THEY ARE TROUBLING BOTH THE TRACES AS WELL AS EFILING TEAM.

 

 

the validate mail is sent to you at the email address from which the mail has been sent to validate the password and not the registered email id.........

Thanks for the replies..but I have confirmed that new password has been sent to PAn registered email id which belongs to the agent..

Since the client did not file electronic return last year, I cannot login using bank account number and efiling ack number also.. otherwise that was an option.

I have also been facing another problem for last few days I could not see 26AS of clients on traces even after login.

Then I tried 'internet explorer' instead of 'google chrome'.. It worked! :)

only remedy is now to get a digital signature. but I have never reset a password before using digital signature! ..hope it works

Now a days, the Income Tax Department is sending the NEW password to the REGISTERED email id and NOT to the email id from which the email is being sent to 'validate @ incometaxindia gov.in'.

on 8th Aug. i sent an email to validate @ incometaxindia gov.in from my email id and i recd. the mail to reset the password however, the client for whom i had reset the password had also e-filed his return with the help of an agent but i am not sure whether he had registered his email id with the department or not........
