my brother has not submitted rent proof for feb & mar 2012. so his employer not calculated exemption u/s 10 i.e. hra exemption for those two months. can i efile his return claiming hra for those two months too ? whether i required to send rent proof for those two months along with itrv acknowledgement?
Yes you can claim exemption for the amt paid for these two months while filing your return. no need to attach any proof while filing your return.
in which section in itr1 form the hra amnt can be claimed, is it in row 1 we need to subtract hra amnt with our gross income
