Quick Summary
Query is about inability to claim deduction u/s 80CCD(2) in ITR-2 where eligible amount shows zero, and whether it is allowed under the new tax regime. Discussion confirms 80CCD(2) is allowed even in new regime and issue is due to questionnaire/salary schedule settings or data mapping errors.

Yes, a deduction under Section 80CCD(2) is available even if you opt for the new tax regime. Check the questionnaire, you have to tick 'YES' to it.

Under schedule VI-A Part B when amount entered in 80CCD(2) the eligible amount relflects as zero, can anyone help?

It has to be enabled from schedule 'General' under Tab Deductions.

Thanks, when salary break up details provided under income it got enabled under chapter VI-A by default.

If the value reflects zero, such exercises are mandatory.

I too have same problem. Couldn't find the check box for 80CCD(2) in deductions. Please suggest.

Check your questioneeir, one of the questions would be for deduction u/s. 80CCD 2 ...

Kindly suggest what option have you selected

The selections are under Schedule 'General'  Tab 'Deductions' & in questionnaire afrer selection of all the schedules.

general tab deductions

While filling details of salary income, reduce NPS Contribution u/s. 80CCD from basic salary and enter the reduced amount under basic salary. Go to Add button and then select the option of "80CCD" from the drop down menu. Enter the amount of NPS in the said field. Now check the deduction u/s. VIA. NPS contribution will be reflected as deduction

Just add your type of employment in the "Salaries" head and automatically the amounts get reflected as deduction.

Its a kind of a bug or an issue of Data mapping between your Form 16 and the ITR system.
