Uan for epf account

Hello everyone,

I was working with a pharma company from May 2012 till August 2013. Since then I have been working on my pet project and as a result I was not salaried. Alternatively, I do not have my UAN number.

Now I have joined a professional services firm and they are asking me for my UAN. Who do I contact to generate my UAN, my previous employer or the current one?

Also, will my PF account from earlier employer be mapped to the UAN number?
