U/s 80D

As per section 80 D medical insurance premium paid can be allowed.However in case of super senior citizen that is age above 80 insurance companies normally do not give insurance and hence to give benefit to them amendment was made which allowed them to claim all medical expenses Hence since ur mother is 85 year old you can very well claim medical expense of rs 50000/-
