Quick Summary
This discussion outlines the essential documents required for registering a trust with the income tax authority. Key documents include the Trust Deed, PAN, and a registration certificate. Depending on the trust's activities and history, you may also need certified annual reports, notes on activities, and potentially details about the governing body, IT returns, donations, property, business operations, and bank accounts. The discussion also touches upon the applicability of registration for periods after March 31, 2020, concerning FY 19-20.

1. Trust Deed and PAN
2. Registration certificate (normally available with trust deed).
3. Certified copy of annual reports of the trust, maximum 3 years, if applicable.
4. Notes on activities of the Trust.

Other documents which may be asked by commissioner ( This list is not inclusive)
a. Details of Governing Body
b. IT returns
c. Details of donation received and its utilization in the past years.
d. Details of property held under Trust
e. Details of any business run by Trust.
