In case of Transporter payment declaration required to not to deduct TDS U/S 194 C
My qustion is whether it is compulsory as per Law to get declaration in Transporter Letter Head?
If any body have clarity please confirm.

If not on letterhead, it can also be taken on plain paper with proper address stamp affixed on face of the declaration. That is also a sufficient form of declaration...
But most of the transporter are providing fake declaration that they do not own more than 10 vehicles. How to control this issue. ?
You take the declaration and preserve it safely. Do no deduct tds. Let income tax dept do their work of tax evasion.
Our responsibility ends once take proper declaration from transporter. After that, risk will be with the transporter giving the declaration. Anyhow you r going to declare the transporter payments in quarterly e TDS return.
