Both are different concepts of practise altogether,but transfer pricing is a new field and well paying one because the companies using these services are mostly MNCs.

it constitutes consulting whereas audit is function under law which has wi9de scope and many prospective clients
 

actly 1 of my frnd has been offer in trnasfr pricing departmnt....in deloittes  rathr thn statutry audit....in her articlship....so she wants to knw  wheatr she shud do it or not?

it is a good field,and i think she shud definitely go for it,audit you have to do it for one or two financial year in different companies and u hc ave requisite knowledge to hold u in good stead. On the other side,it will not help her in her studies as audit gives u an idea of whole of the syllabus which tyransfer pricing deptt might not be able to give :)
