I have demat & trading a/c. I am the beginer to share market. My question is : I purchase shares of a particular company i.e. wipro at the rate of Rs. 250 at 11 am. Is it possible to sell wipro shares on the same day at around 12.30 pm when the rate increases to 260. So that I can make a profit of Rs. 10. Can share market related people answer my query. What is the procedure to do so. For this whether online is required. Whether I have to keep some marginal amount as deposit in my trading a/c. Please clarify?

Hi kannan

It is not necessary whether you have online trading account or not. At any point of time you can trade.

Hi kannan

yes u can do. this process is called intra-day trading (fatka). it is not neccesary to have online trading account. you can settle your intraday trade at any time u want between trading hours. i.e. 9.55 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

margin will have to keep with your broker or not, its totally depend upon you & your brokers mutual understanding.

Thanks Mr. Jay Prakash Heerwal.

I would like to know whether I can do intra day trading in all groups or only A, B, C Groups.

Please reply.

Mr Kashyap,

Almost all brokers in India offer online trading solutions. Their systems are robust and except for a few minor differences, the functions are the same. As the connectivity is achieved over the internet, you need not worry about travelling abroad as you can login from any part of the world with a broadband connection and trade away.

ODIN Diet is a popular software being offered by most brokers for online trading apart from other proprietory softwares and vendor softwares like Tradeanywhere, Powertrader, etc.

As for mobile trading (trading through mobile phone)... its still in a nascent stage. A few big brokerage houses do offer the services, but apart from price updates and live tickers, the mobile trading concept hasn't really taken off.

You can check out https://www.investvista.com for a reliable online trading solution.
