Yes,

First check on the website about the name availability (whether earlier trademark is registered with the same name or not) and class details. Then file form TM1 along with required annexures and details and a Cheque or DD or Rs. 3500/- per mark. It is a long process. However, from the date you have made application for the trademark you can use words TM with your mark. After getting registration you can wright (R) with your trademark.
 

Ankur- Is it possible, like as in MCA, to do search on our own or shall we require to appoint a lawyer for that ? Can we file Applcn on our own along with DD wht u said.
