Quick Summary
The time limit for generating GST e-invoices depends on your business's annual turnover. Businesses with a turnover of Rs 100 crore or more must generate e-invoices within 30 days of the invoice date, effective from November 1, 2023. For businesses with lower turnover, while there's no strict deadline, it's advisable to generate them before filing your monthly GSTR-1.

Effective November 1, 2023, taxpayers with an annual turnover of Rs 100 crores or more must send e-invoices to the IRP within 30 days of invoice issuance. For those with a turnover below Rs 100 crores, while there is no explicit hard deadline for generating an e-invoice immediately after issuing the invoice, in my opinion, it should be generated before filing the relevant month's GSTR-1.

The turnover limit is there.
