termination of articleship-allowale/permissible by the ICAI?

Articleship 551 views 2 replies

pls. help....

If anybody wants to terminate the articleship, then he/she can terminate the same?Is it permissible/allowable by the ICAI? Suppose, the employer permits the articled assistant to terminate the articleship & accordingly signs the letter written by the articled assistant (showing as his consent), then such permission is taken as base/considered by the ICAI? or even after the permission by the employer, such termination will not be entertained by the ICAI? Whether the grounds which are applicable to the "TRANSFER", are same applicable to the termination also?

please tell...pls help...

As far as I know, the grounds are the same for both. The application signed by your principal should contain one of the specific reasons that were announced last year by ICAI as valid grounds.

If the reason that you give is not one of those given in that notification, then your application will be rejected, whether your principal signs on it or not.

Hi sampada

Agree with Aditya regarding reasons for transfer... It has to be as per the ICAI's eligible reasons... u could try secondment...

Termination is a different thing from transfer.

As per my knwledge, u will have to start articles all over if u terminate in the middle... The exception being termination on completion of articles..
