Tds on sale of website

TDS 184 views 7 replies

Hi,

I sold a "website" for 5,00,00 INR a few days ago. Does the buyer have to pay TDS on this transacation?

Note: I do not regularly buy or sell websites, so this is not a business income.

If TDS is to be deducted, would it be dedcuted from the Sale amount (4,10,000 INR) or would be paid seprately by the buyer?

Thanks

Buyer was an Indian. So TDS will be deducted at 10% rate?

Under which section sir?

Under what section are you deducting TDS , were databases, files also sold

I classified the sale as an asset sale and paid short term Capital gain tax last year. Yes, database and files were also sold. I am not sure if TDS would ve deducted. Please let me know.
