whether it is exempt or not .... and how to cliam such tds......

When TDS deducted, implies the surrender proceeds would be taxable....

If TDS is deducted then such income is a taxable income. Surrender value chargeable u/h Income from Other Sources. The surrender value received is not an exempt income.
