1372 views 2 replies
Dear experts,
a husband and wife jointly purchased a property worth Rs.60 lacs and the wife deducted entire 1% tds of Rs.60000 and paid via 26 qb form.
will there be a problem as it is joint property and both of them hv to deduct tds and file separate 26qb??
is it like they had to pay 50/50 tds??
pls clarify

No.there is not provision to doing like so. how ever generally first holder is liable in case of joint holding to do compliance .
but i heard dept sending notice to the joint holder buyer who didn't deduct tax. other joint holder fully deducted tax. so in this case what can be done??
