TDS Not claimed for FY 2023-2024

Sir,

I filed ITR for my father for the FY 2023-24 on 3rd Jun 2024.  While filing the return the TDS was not reflected in the AIS and I filed through the offline DESKTOP utility by downloading .json file from the IT Site.  TDS was showing zero and my father has only pension and there was no tax. But the bank had deducted TDS Rs.5900/- which I came to know only when I checked the IT website today for filing FY 24-25.  Bank remitted the TDS only after 3rd Jun to IT Department it seems. I understand that the revised return has to be filed before Dec 2024. Now the time is over. Is there any way this TDS can be claimed ? Thanks for your valuable suggesion.

  1. Contact the Bank : Reach out to the bank to confirm the TDS deduction and remittance details. They may be able to provide documentation or clarifiction on the TDS.
  2. File a grievance with the IT department and later check for any updates on the IT website.

Thank you Sir.

I heard that it is not possible to CLAIM TDS as the revised return date is Dec 2024. You can pay Income Tax by an updated return.
