Interest for late payment of TDS is demanded by department.

Which code (200 or 400 ) of challan 281 will be used for payment ???

You can select option for the previous TDS deducted head...
Also check out the section in traces portal under message Inbox...

Late payment of TDS based on the respective section under code 400.

Generally Tds payment will be under 200 code (Tds /TCS Payable by tax per).

But if you get notice from dept and interest,late fee, even shortage of Tds if any demanded by department then you must use the code 400(Tds/TCS regular assessment-Raised by IT dept)
