Whether tds is required to deduct on payment to a foreign transport agency towards ocean freight on import of goods. The amount payable to foreign agency located out side india by indian partnership firm. The amount payable in usd dollars through wire transfer.

Thanks for your reply, but the company is a foreign transport agency and have no brancesh in india. The payable amount also in Other than indian currency. How he submit the tax exemption certificate.
TDS is must in this case, check for the country of residence for benefits of DTAA by transport company.
