if an asseessee has lost the challan of tds, & the details in neither shown on net, but the asseesee is saiyng that he has deposited the challan in the bank.
now my question is that how to show this query in tds return, we can not put the value of challn & other details bcoz we dont have any details of the same, but return of tds has to been filled.
now what to do, how to file a tds return.

In this case, you can ask your client to approach the concerned Bank where he calims to have deposited the TDS.
THe Bank will definitely provide the details on its letterhead which you can use for TDS returns.

Check out the link. Go to CHALLAN STATUS ENQUIRY .Give the TAN of assesse , you can vew Challan details, Give the amount of TDS paid by the client and click " CONFIRM AMOUNT " to check whether the amount declared by client is corresponding toi particular challan or not.
