TDS is advance tax.. it is deducted from the income of other person. A company giving income to other for service part has to deduct tds

like if i had an contract with a ltd for supply  of man power services, then the said a ltd will deduct mine tds..

i.e. tax on the income which i wil earn 

tds is deducted by companies so that the receiver of income has to file income tax,
