TCS collected as part of foreign travel to be shown in Income tax ITR 2 retrun

Dear Sirs,

I am filing ITR2 and have question about TCS collected for foreign travel spending. I got to know thru the bank after my foreign visit that they have deducted TCS of around Rs. 5672 due to foreign spends beyond a certain limit. I was actually not aware of this limit though. but nevertheless , the TCS got deducted from bank.

This amount also appearing in 26AS form. I need help from the esteemed CA's to know if I have to show anywhere in my ITR2 about this amount or this is just for reference appears in 26AS. secondly, If i need to put this amount in ITR 2 then in which "schedule" i should put it.

thanks in advance for your help.

regards

KV

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies how to handle Tax Collected at Source (TCS) deducted on foreign travel expenses when filing your Income Tax Return (ITR) 2. The consensus is that while the TCS amount will appear in your Form 26AS, you do not need to declare the original foreign expenditure itself in your ITR. Instead, you can directly claim the TCS amount collected against your overall tax liability.

No need of declaration of the expenditure in ITR. Directly claim the TCS against your tax liabilities.

Thanks sir for your prompt response
