my attempt is in Nov 2016.will the current material be relevant till then or not.m confused if I shud start studying did subject now or next year only.please guide

Finance Act 2015 (i.e. A.Y. 2016-17) will be applicable for May & Nov 2016 CA-IPC exams.

Currently books available in market are as per Finance Act 2014 (i.e. A.Y. 2015-16 for 2015 exams).

After Nov 2015 exams gets over, books will be available for May 2016 exams during last week of Dec’15 or first week of Jan’16. They will be as per A.Y. 2016-17 and will contain amendments up to 31.10.2015.

For your Nov 2016 exams, amendments up to 30.04.2016 would be relevant.

As the A.Y. remains the same for May & Nov exams, you may buy the taxation book applicable for May 2016 exams and subsequently do the amendments issued between 01.11.2015-30.04.2016 from RTP issued by the ICAI, one month before the exams.

Doing so, you will have ample time for understanding the concepts and doing practice instead of waiting for an updated book for Nov 2016 exams. Later on you may purchase the same, if feels necessary.
