Taxation between switzerland and india

Tax queries 462 views 3 replies

Dear All,

I work for an indian IT company and has been deputed to switzerland for 2 years. I arrived in switzerland on 02-oct-2011. I need to understand the computation of tax on my total income for current financial year.

Suppose i earn X amount in India and Y amount in Switzerland. on X , i would be paying tax based on indian law and on y would be paying tax based on switzerland laws. Suppose i transfer Z amount out of Y amount to india (via Bank transfer to my salary account in india) now am i supposed to pay  tax on this Z amount based on indian taxation. i have heard some treaties based on double taxation but not sure of them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Vivek

I think transfer pe koi tax nahi lagega. And agar laga bhi to section 91 ki bilateral relief mil jayegi. Wait for other opinion.
In india u can claim relief 91 provided it is taxed in switzerland and now in india. It means both country are levying taxes. Then on showing proof india will give relief.

Hi Hemang, Thanks for the reply.

Would we be able to get relief on all the income earned in switzerland or some portion of it would attract indian tax.

thanks,vivek
