Tax treatment

Hello All,

I am currently on an assigenemt overseas and have been here since Oct 2013.

During the current financial year - I have stayed for 195 days in India; and the rest overseas.

My employer has been deducting my taxes in India for the component claiming I stayed more than 181 days.

I am also paying taxes in the current country I am receving my salary.

How is the double taxation be handled? Should I be claiming for refund for all taxes paid in India from Oct 2013 until March 2014?

Please advise

Dear Anand in the current year your status is resident and all income will be taxable in India but we have to see double taxation avoidance agreement between India and the country you are employed in and then only we can take such benefits in your case.
Hi Manoj If any taxation policy exist... what should I being doing next? Claim all taxes paid after October?

All,

Please suggest...

Do I claim the entire amount paid as tax in India (while I was not in India) ?
