Dear Pramod,

Rent receipts of House ,where Employee himself is not residing, are not eligible for HRA Exemption..

U see the House must be occupied by the assessee only & not on his behalf by his family member.

Mr. Pramod,

Receipts of House -  Employee himself is not residing, are not eligible for HRA Exemption..

House must be occupied by the assessee  & not  by his family member.

but Mr.Amir....I have a doubt....

Incase of Rental house - 6 months and UFA - remaining months???? both HRA and UFA will be calculated....tell me whether i'm right or wrong...

Dear Balaji,

Yes u r ritein that case, but Brother that is something which is understood, here i think this query meant that both things have been given for same period....

agree brother....

Dear All,

Plz Solve my problem:

As per reply received HRA exemption will be avail by the employee when employee self residing in that particular house and paid House Rent. But some employees told me that they hire the accomodation in another city otherthan the working place of the comapny. During Working days employee concern residing in the rental accomodation provided by the company. & Sunday they will

go to that particular city and residing in that particular Rental House. Can we allow them HRA exemption of that particular house which is hired by them in another city?

Plz urgent reply.

Thanks

Dear Pramod,

HRA Exemption will not be available in this case, u see the whole purpose for allowing HRA benefit is to put employee close to his place of work whereas in ur case the entire thing is opposite.......

Mr.Pramod

I'm really confused.....taking a house for rent only for 4-5 days in a month...

mmmmm i don't think HRA exemption will be applicable....no chance....
