I followed TN Maonharan sir's book. But Vinod Singhania sir's book contains more detailed explanations. Both are recommended books.

singhaniya sir book good for tax, but it doesn't contain more information about s.t & vat

Whichevr book u prefer shridevi, but after studyin u must solve the scanner, it is really very helpful.........

If you want the taxation in a simple language, then you can confidently go for Girish Ahuja book. For Service Tax and VAT part, I advise you to refer only the module for theory part and practicals can be done from anywhere.

Income tax- TN Manoharan

S-tax n VAT, i believe institute material is the best...it is detailed and well presented...it would be better if u make notes from it as it wont be easy to revise the whole thing again before exams...

For Service tax and Vat Mohammad rafi sirs book is preferable.......
