Is TIN / TAN only for Companies? or it can be a personal No for Individuals like PAN?
Are BOTH (TAN/ PAN) necessary for TDS?
Kindly clarify my doubts. Also is TIN necessary in addition to the above if dealing with Sales Tax/ Excise/ VAT ??

tan is compulsory if one is liable to cut tds
tds is applicable in the audit cases hence PAN would always be there

I. TAN AND PAN IS APPLICABLE TO ALL ENTERPRISES WHO DEDUCT TDS.
WHO WILL DEDUCT TDS -
1.ALL COMPANIES.
2.OTHERS-WHO ARE LIABLE FOR AUDIT (RELAXATION TO DEDUCT TDS IN FIRST YEAR- IT MEANS IF THESE ENTERPRISE DO NOT DEDUCT TAX IN FORST YEAR THEY WILL NOT BE PENALISED).
II. TIN IS MANDATORY TO ALL ENTERPRISES WHOSE GOODS ARE LIABLE TO VAT/CST.
